Default Hero Runes and loot

My idea is basically a reduction in rune prices at the trader when you buy runes for heroes. I can't see Koss using the cash he gets from loot to buy new weapons and armor.

I like having my heroes equipped with runes and insignias, especially since they form a part of my party almost all the time. And kitting out my heroes is costing me an arm and a leg.

So, I wouldn't mind seeing 2 sets of runes for sale at the trader. One set for you, and a discounted version of the same runes only usable on heroes.

Since heroes get a share of the drops and some of the gold, they can pay for their own stinking runes, insignias, weapons, and offhands.

I'm all for this.

My gripe is about the more expensive ones. Radiant insignias on my caster heroes are making me broke

This thread is pointless. We all know heroes should benefit from PvP armor creation window.

My suggestion is not buying all radiant insignias for each piece of armor.

For casters, I give them 1 radiant for chestpiece and a +2 energy rune which is much less expensive.
I also have the hourglass staff, with this combination my casters have 50e which is more than enough for monks, necros and mesmers. Elementalists have energy storage which solves the problems.

The key point is: set skills correctly.
Put 1 or even 2 energy management skills on each hero. Bring a motivation paragon.
Be careful to give them too many spammable skills, they are brainless spammers.
Even if you manage to give them a pool of 70e, when they start to spam they will use it all in a matter of seconds, for sure.

Why not letting them to continue earning skill points?
For each skill pint they earn, you get an 'hero skill point'. Then, you can use 1 hero skill point to get common runes usable only in hero armor, 2 to get uncommon and 3 to get rare.

That makes sense, sort of have them spend the money they accumulate, instead of spendings yours on them. Though, in time I think you would accumulate a lot of unused skill points, making it too easy, might need to coast more than 1 skill point per rarity of a rune, or use something which doesn't stack like skill points and is shared over all heroes of 1 character.

When my account got hacked, all my armor(with everything on it) and almost all runes and insignias on my heroes where sold. Many of my characters are still naked, I haven't even gotten to work on my heroe's runes.

I usually stick to 2 radiant insignias on some of my casters, not all of them. One for chest piece and one for legs. I want the freedom to be able to build the kind of team I want (there are 10 professions after all, and how useful some of them are have been debated countless times). We can only take 4 heroes, and I'd hate for one of them to be a paragon all the time.

I also want the freedom to be able to give Jora enough energy to pull of a meteor shower. Not that I'd want to. But seeing as I spend most of my time on GW with AI I might as well be able to play any build I want.

My view on the amount of heroes we have to choose from is to avoid salvaging and rune swapping to play different builds. I have 7 PvE characters, all of them with heroes. It becomes a rather costly affair if like me you want your heroes to be able to play to the best of their capabilities.

If you don't want her to play that build why rune her up with expensive runes so that you can...never use it? Personally I find Survivor or Dreadnaught's runes to work well on my warrior heroes. Good warriors use Adrenaline skills.

I got most of the runes for my heroes by playing through the game on each character. A lot of insignia too. I usually buy a minor/major rune for the headpiece so their main attribute will be buffed but that's all. After that, if it don't drop, they don't get it...and it works fine for me. Hero runes are not a requirement, just a want, since in Normal Mode they work perfectly fine without.

I have 11 PvE characters...their most-used heroes are well runed and kitted out with very little cost to myself. Chest Junk and Drops = win.

You can only take 3 heroes with you. If you want ALL of your heroes to have full Radiant sets, this means you only need to buy 15 Radiant Insignias. When switching heroes, just Expert Salvage the runes/insignias you want off, and put them on the new hero.

Don't buy runes/insignias for heroes. If you pick up, ID, and use the stuff that drops, you should end up with runes/insignias enough to use. Some of the runes might need to be purchased or you wait longer than you want, but only a small number (Superior Death for example).

/unsigned

I see this causing more problems than it would 'fix'. Bugs for people using cheap hero runes on characters, pricing messed up for selling/buying, etc. I'd rather they use their time fixing bugs, making GW2 good, and coming up with original weekend events (like that will ever happen).

What I meant was that if I did want to give her a high energy build I'd obviously have to give her the energy pool to be able to pull high enery spells/skills off. I don't run things like MS on my warriors at all, but I want to be able to say "If I wanted to, I could afford it"

My previous post pointed out that I don't want to have to salvage and swap runes and insignias around.

I don't want to pay 1k every time I have to enter UW or FoW as well, but hey, can we get that changed too?
If you are going to only put 2 Radiant on each heroes anyway, why bother with any at all? +5e isn't going to make that much of a difference. I never even bother equipping my heroes with ANYTHING, just random crap greens whenever I find them (which is not often since I don't farm them). Just counter that with better flagging and team building and you'll be fine.
However, that's just how I feel. If you want to equip your hero with everything, go for it. The whole point was that you needed to spend to make your heroes great. It's a stupid goldsink but whatever. Just deal with it.
